Mayor de Blasio: "We Stand With You. We Will not Let Anyone Harm You."

By Ali Cinar- NYC - NYC Mayor de Blasio was with the Faith Leaders from across New York City to stand the against hate in all of its forms. Mayor made the following remarks during a press conference at the Upper East Side’s Temple Emanu-el.  “We will defend with our lives the synagogues of this city and the community of this city. We stand with you. We will not let anyone harm you. The NYPD “will be present in force to protect Jewish community institutions. New Yorkers don't look away from hatred and try to pretend that it doesn't exist. We confront it and we confront it together. Our hearts, our prayers and our solidarity go out to the people of Pittsburgh "



Chief Terence Monahan also made a speech at at Park East Synagogue on October 27th. Chief said: " I want to extend my condolences to the victims, family members, and congregants of the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh — as well as the hero cops who were wounded while running toward the danger."

There are many Faith Leaders from different religion during the press conferences. Turkish-American Faith Leaders were present to support the Jewish Community.

The history of the Jews in Turkey covers the 2,400 years that Jews have lived in what is now Turkey. Turkish and Jewish Communities in New York City are support each other on a cultural and social levels.

A day after the shooting that left 11 dead at a Pittsburgh synagogue, friends and family members recalled the victims: professors and accountants, dentists and beloved doctors serving their local community. Officials released the names of all 11 victims during a news conference Sunday, all of them middle-aged or elderly. The victims of synagogue included a pair of brothers and a husband and wife. The oldest was 97.

Melvin Wax, 88, of Squirrel Hill
Irving Younger, 69, of Mt. Washington
