The Armenian genocide allegation is one the leading questions that Turks living in US respond to. The claim is that Armenians, between one to two million in number, had been massacred. Responding to this claim with “they were not killed systematically but lost their lives during a war,” became a vicious cycle. |

Yasin Yağcı Progress report on Turkey was finally released by the European Commission. Although it is basically a recommendation letter, it was regarded as a manifestation of victory in Turkey. |

Contrary to expectations, the 2004 Presidential elections ended without any complications, as the Democratic candidate John Kerry called President Bush to concede the elections. The chaos of 2000 elections did not repeat. |
