More than 2400 world’s best firms, entrepreneurs, innovators are listed at the New York Stock Exchange. John Tuttle who is the ‎Global Head of Listings at New York Stock Exchange gave a us press briefing organized by US State Department, NYSE markets trade an average daily volume of $123 billion, making the world’s largest and most liquid capital source. “We are a 225 years old  and we are also very much focused on the future. We are in massive renovation to show that modern exchange and continue to help companies to raise capital to expand their business. Many pre-IPO technology companies now qualify for an NYSE listing. Large IPO raises over 700 million dollars and Ali Baba’s is 24.5 billion dollars,“ Tuttle says at the briefing.

New York Police Commemorate Turkish Colleagues Fallen in Istanbul Attack PDF Print E-mail

Image Police officers from the New York Police Department (NYPD) joined Turkish and American NGO's in a commemoration event held in Times Square for victims of the deadly PKK bombings in Istanbul on Dec. 10, which killed 44 people, including 36 police officers. NYPD Muslim Officers Society Chairman Adeel Rana said in a speech that NYPD officers had joined the event to support Turkish colleagues and to give a message of solidarity, adding that all the world should be united in the fight against terrorism.

US Law Enforcement Raids Turkish-owned New York Cafe, House with Links to Gulen PDF Print E-mail

Image The U.S. law enforcement officers raided a popular cafe linked to Pennsylvania-based Imam Fethullah Gülen in New York's Brooklyn on early Friday morning, the Daily Sabah has learned. More than a dozen officers seized computers during the raid on Masal Cafe, a popular destination for Gülen's disciples, according to frequent visitors of the venue. Another search was also conducted against the cafe's owner, Salahattin Karakuş's house, in which his computers were also confiscated. Karakuş confirmed on Sunday via phone that U.S. law enforcement officers were in his house and the cafe. "They told me not to talk about this with anyone. That's all," he said. Local media reported that the raid was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, however, FBI's New York office said it had not carried out the operation.

Image NEW YORK (June 30, 2016) -- The 2016 Summer Fancy Food Show, which ended Tuesday, was the largest in exhibit space since it was established in 1954. More than 2,670 exhibitors filled the halls of Javits Center in New York with the latest in specialty food and beverages from across the U.S. and 55 countries. Owned and produced by the Specialty Food Association, the show ran June 26 – 28. It is the largest such marketplace in North America. More than 47,000 specialty food professionals were in the exhibit halls, which spanned the equivalent of six football fields. "The show is the place to be to discover the latest in specialty food and what's next for stores and restaurants," says Laura Santella-Saccone, the Association's chief marketing officer. "Record sales for specialty food have contributed to the strength of our show."

(Chapel Hill, N.C.— June 22, 2016) – Jordan Maly-Preuss, a 2013 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has been selected for the prestigious Ertegun Graduate Scholarship Program, which funds graduate study in the humanities at England’s University of Oxford. This year, 18 scholarships were granted for one-year and two-year full-time master’s degrees and for three-year doctoral degrees. Ertegun Scholars pursue research in diverse fields, from literature and archaeology to art history and medieval and modern languages. They leave Oxford prepared to be positive thought leaders and active contributors in their chosen fields and the global community.
