Through his refereeing career, Cakir has called 70 UEFA games, four of which were during the 2014-2015 Champions League and three in Europa League.

Barcelona has already played for Cuneyt Cakir in three official Champions League matches: Rubin Kazan-Barcelona, a 1-1 tie in the group stage in 2010-11; Barcelona-Chelsea, a 2-2 tie in the semifinals in 2011-12; and Benfica-Barcelona, a 0-2 result in the 2012-13 group stage.

Meanwhile, the 44-year-old Atkinson, who will referee the Europa League final in the Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw, has been an international referee since 2006 and has refereed 67 games for UEFA. (Herald Tribune, http://www.laht.com)
